baywatch is a world away from war.

Hoorah for Holga! I finally got some of my holiday holga snaps processed. Two favourites are the ones above... was such a reality shock when i arrived at Santa Monica beach in California to a memorial dedicated to the men and women of the US military, there mission is to, "To honor the fallen and wounded, To acknowledge the human cost of war, To provide a place to grieve, To encourage dialogue among citizens with varied points of view, To educate the public about the needs of those returning from war." Each cross representing an American soldier killed in Iraq.
Was such a moving experience, with many family and friends of those remembered at the site paying their respects.
I will never forget this.

a fisheye.

This year I celebrated my birthday far from home on an island off the east coast of America. I really didn’t expect any gifts but was pleasantly surprised and stoked when a fisheye camera arrived in the mail (sent by my lovely friend Monique). I don’t think I could have asked for anything better! Being 35mm film it’s a lot easier to process than my beloved Holga. The two photos I have posted are my favourites of the Redwood Forest in California. I don’t normally get too excited about trees but these were amazing! If anyone ever gets a chance to go I would definitely recommend it.

theme park enthusiast.

These are not my own snaps but as the major theme park enthusiast i am, i just had to display them. The images are of an abandoned theme park in korea, after closing their gates 30 years ago the park is now rather over grown and run down. The pictures have a spooky feeling to them, with the rides just left to stand against time.
