a day off work. mangawhai heads.

today at work i got irritated waiting for the courier to pick up my film... so i decided to cross process a slide film in c41, might just have to try my hand at more cross processing. Although the colours are a tad fluorescent it works out a treat and saved me a buck or two

a long weekend. farewell olive.

baywatch is a world away from war.

Hoorah for Holga! I finally got some of my holiday holga snaps processed. Two favourites are the ones above... was such a reality shock when i arrived at Santa Monica beach in California to a memorial dedicated to the men and women of the US military, there mission is to, "To honor the fallen and wounded, To acknowledge the human cost of war, To provide a place to grieve, To encourage dialogue among citizens with varied points of view, To educate the public about the needs of those returning from war." Each cross representing an American soldier killed in Iraq.
Was such a moving experience, with many family and friends of those remembered at the site paying their respects.
I will never forget this.

if only i could vote.

I was introduced to this website by a friend from San Francisco, as a big Obama fan and always on the hunt for some good design - I thought I'd share it with you...

"30 Reasons is a 30-day email and internet campaign to encourage people to vote for Barack Obama. Our goal is simple: Use design to build a logical, multi-faceted argument for Obama and make it easy to share each reason with another person.

We enlisted 30 graphic designers to create a poster that represents a reason to vote for Obama. Starting on the October 5th, we will post a new poster online every day and email it to our list. Recipients can easily share the email with other supporters and friends who are undecided."

go to www.30reasons.org to check it out. If only I could vote
